InvadeNOLA is moving on up… well to wordpress

Dear America,

Sparked by a conversation with a local blogger friend, I decided to renounce my love of Tumblr and switch back to a Wordpress blog. Her exact words were, “Tumblr is for posting pictures and reblogging weird youtube videos.” Plus there’s the added bonus on Wordpress of Google love. With my new host HostGator, the site load time has shrunk substantially.

So over the past week I have worked my ass off to switch the site to a new server, as well as, a new blogging platform. That also included a pretty baller site redesign. 

Change is never easy, but this is certainly for the best. To all my Google Reader followers, remember to update your RSS feed to Invadenola.com.

2011 is the year of the brick. Build the dream.

SOPHOMORE BY MADELINE VON FROOMER AND CHRISSIE MILLER - New Orleans Fashion Week Recap

There have been many delightful duos in the fashion industry – there’s Badgley Mischka, Dolce and Gabanna, Proenza Schouler and now Chrissie Miller and Madeline von Froomer. This pair, whose experience includes having attended SUNY and the Maryland Institute College of Art, as well as working for Proenza Schouler, have joined forces to create the label SOPHOMORE.

The line, which began with a single t-shirt design in 2003 has expanded into a full collection of contemporary sportswear. It includes tank tops, t-shirts, sweatshirts, leggings and jackets – all basics but with a New York vibe. Their Fall collection will showcase a variety of fabrics including a cozy heathered slub jersey, a “quilt” print and a quilted jersey backed with cotton twill, in addition to their standard basic fabrics.

The pair is looking forward to previewing their fall collection at NOLA Fashion Week not only because New Orleans is Madeline’s hometown, but also because they want to be a part of the extended recovery and cultural growth of the city.
