Spring 2011 Fashion Trends

By: Dalton Primeaux
This spring is looking bright! Based on the trends of clothing lines that were pumped down the runway during New York Fashion Week, we are going to see a lot of bright colors for 2011’s spring season.
They are rich and pure, like the colors of precious gems. Emporio Armani’s blue silk-blend shorts are a perfect example. They are such a beautiful tint that can brighten up any outfit. The same goes for DVF’s bright teal wool-blend shorts, and Versus’s deep pink, silk dress (at Versace boutiques). Prada’s dark purple, stretch jacket stood out for me. It was not exactly bright, but the color can add a balance with other very intense pieces like Marc Jacobs’s orange linen and satin pants.
Color is back, and bright is the new black. So when styling yourself this spring, prepare for more than just a pop of color; wear the whole rainbow.
