Remember when you were a young whippersnapper and your kindergarten teacher Miss McGrath had you gather around the classroom rug and tell everyone what you wanted to be when you grew up? And Johnny said “a fireman” and Benita said “a crossing guard” and you said “a Chamber of Commerce member?”

Nah, we don’t remember that either.

Turns out that’s exactly who we should have wanted to be. The New Orleans Chamber of Commerce is chockfull of friendly folks and innovative companies who want to encourage our generation. (True story.) Starting with a fantastic new Young Professional Networking Night in one of the greatest hangout spots in town: Oak Street. Now, this won’t be one of your cattle call cocktail hours.

The New Orleans Chamber focuses on the innovative, sustainable future of New Orleans, and they publically identify themselves as a network of professionals “as serious about work as they are about play.” Already employed? This is a great way to meet folks from other companies, and earn Boss Bonus points. Looking for employment? Hundreds of companies. Dozens of industries. Do the math.

Oak, the chic wine bar in the heart of the Oak Street neighborhood, will have “complimentary charcuterie and cheese” which we translate as “Free meat and cheese!” (We’d translate “cheese,” but it seems sort of self-explanatory). In other words, we’re fairly to positive the FDA would approve you going, and with a room full of people working in hundreds of companies that help make New Orleans the most unique city in America, so will your bottom line. RSVP to RSVP@neworleanschamber.org with the subject “Young Professional Night.”
