Theo’s Pizza

4218 Magazine Street

www.theospizza.com

$1 domestic long neck bottled beer on Monday 4 p.m. until 10 p.m.

It doesn’t get much more American than pizza and beer on a Monday night. Theo’s ups the ante for New Orleanians with $1 domestic long necks and a menu of gourmet, stone oven-baked pizzas. Nestled in the 4200 block of Magazine Street in Uptown, it’s a great place to kick back and maybe even do away with the lingering hangover from a late Sunday night football game. Theo’s also offers sandwiches and salads; it’s an all-and-all great option for a casual Monday night date. Play your cards right and your Abita-drinking sweetheart may not even realize you’re being cheap!

Razzoo Bar and Patio

511 Bourbon Street

www.razzoo.com

3-for-1 Domestic beer, wine and well drinks. Thursday through Sunday 12 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Monday through Wednesday 2 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Try not to break out in a cold sweat at the thought of actually paying to drink on Bourbon Street. Razzoo’s has broken out of the price-gouging mold of its competitors by offering 3-for-1 specials every day until 9 p.m. Tourists and underage drinkers may still get caught up in the trap of drinking after nine, but for the penny-pinching lush, Bourbon can be a whole new – and even welcoming – place in the light of day.

Palace Café

605 Canal Street

www.palacecafe.com

$5 cocktails and wine on Monday through Friday 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. with $5 appetizers available as well.

Dickie Brennan’s is a name that will set any New Orleanian salivating, and their “$5 after 5” special not only has the liquor flowing (almost) freely, but some delicious appetizers, too. Their special “Peter’s Planters Punch” is offered every day and is a delightful mix of rum, lemon and orange juices and a house-made cardamom syrup. Enjoy with an order of duck spring rolls for another Abraham Lincoln and the entire check barely tips the double-digits. Another beauty about drinking at the Palace Café? They’re walking distance from more than one streetcar line, so after one too many of Peter’s punches, driving home isn’t an issue.
